Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the state, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, over 28,000 power users in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both states.

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
