“It was regrettable. It was kind of an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I just put up the incorrect finger,” he noted. “The action was accidentally done. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
