Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Officers mentioned they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located multiple other vandalized cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state preliminary tests indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they added.

Local authorities said they were working "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

An important official commented the incident made him without words and required to be resolved promptly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
